Inyabu Marvel x BISP Zaltana Kissed By An Angel In Kahnawake

Ezri is our happy bunny, always friendly and a little bit crazy. So far, she has raised two litters, litter E and litter G, and she was a gentle and loving mom. She is not too interested in being shown in the ring, but she likes to work in harness and has proven herself a good lead dog.

For her third litter, we chose a sire living in Croatia, Inyabu Marvel (Thor), bred by Nives Medunjanin Božičević (Inyabu Kennel, Zagreb/HR). We were hoping for an outcross mating to prevent the genetic bottleneck effect in our breeding.

Thor is thoughtfully linebred to Ch. Smoke ‘N Ash Of The Midnight Sun, hence he come from quite different lines than our dogs. He lives in the area of Zagreb and is a working dog, because his owner Vedrana Miholic is a marathon and semimarathon afficionado. She took him to all her trainings and entered her team in CaniCross races.

The mating of Thor and Ezri took place on April 18^th 2023. An echo on Mai 18^th showed that Ezri had conceived and at least carried four pups. By x-ray a few days before the pups’ “ETA”, we saw the well developped skeletons of seven pups.

Ezri gave birth to them in the night of June 18th. The six boys (4 black & white, 2 grey & white) and the girl were quite big (around 500 g each), healthy and very hungry.

During the next days they grew nicely and stayed active and demanding. On day 11 after birth, boy3 (Ignatius) opened his eyes, and being 2 weeks old, all pups were peeking around and tottering all through the whelping box.

At 3 weeks the pups moved to their room and spent a lot of time in the garden, as long as there was no continuous rain. Mommie Ezri decided to end nursing, when they were five weeks, fed up with the scratching and biting of the big bunch. But she always loved to spend time with her babies, playing, cuddling, kissing.

The pups grew nicely and started to spend a lot of time in the puppy pen in the garden, and after a while they were allowed to run in the dog yard as well.

Meanwhile all seven have found their furever families and enjoy their visits.

The journey to Zagreb was a real adventure!
