Conformation Assessment Report (translated by me):

Good-natured dog, reached the limit of height at withers.
Rectangular built, attentive expression, medium bone structure with good muscles.

Rectangular head, scissor bite, eyes brown and blue, slightly rounded, well set ears, curved neck, strong back, sickle-shaped tail. Front and hind well angulated, closed paws, swift movement, typical coat in black and white, strong pigment.

reached the limit of height in withers, breeding partner should be of medium height.

Koda’s pedigree at PedigreeOnline

Koda was the youngest in our litter B, being a son of the late Salai (Balance Master Speigas) out of our Kira (Zausel’s Red Rose). His distinguished features were his spirit and his strong pigment: he was jet black, a color that has become very rare in our breed.

Koda lived an active life in East Northrhine-Westfalia (NRW) in the area of Siegen, for a few year alongside with Mato (Clemens of Kahnawake) from our litter C, before Mato found a new family. Koda was an athletic dog who loved to run, he was confident, free of aggression, compliant with people and other dogs and very attentive.

Because of his strong color and pigment we had urged his owners to have him approved for breeding. During the eye checks he was diagnosed as being mildly affected with ICAA which will not have any effect on his health and eyesight (according to the ECVO). That thwarted our plans to breed Opra to him, who shares the same small defect. Unfortunately, he was never used for breeding.

He was of great help for his owner, who had to live through some stormy times, before they both found a new home and a new family. Koda was a healthy dog, loved his runs and mushing.

August 6th 2026, after his daily walk, he lay down on one of his favorite spots in the garden to rest. Some time later, his owner heard him howl, and she went to look after him. He was lying on his side, gazing, like he was far away already. Before she could decide anything, he howled one more time and then passed away.

We will never forget Koda for his friendly and confident nature, and I regret that I never had him sire a litter.
