A picture of Bernie (Bernardus of Kahnawake) is featured in the Clubnachrichten (Club News) of the DCNH. At the Jubilee Show in August he won Baby Class with the result ” promising” with his also very promising brother Koda (Brendan of Kahnawake) in second place. Josefine Munke (Toolik’s Alaskan Malamutes) took a nice picture of Bernie which made it into the report about the show, printed in the current issue of the CN.
Driving home from this year’s CACIB of the VDH Hessen in Gießen we were very happy with the results. We had entered our young girls Ezri (Zaltana Kissed By An Angel In Kahnawake) in Puppy Class and Opra (Inner Vision Wolfblood) in Intermediate Class. Both girls had starte to blow their coats in the summer heat, therefore Opra entered the ring naked, Ezri with a very thin coat. Even ring training and dog sports had been neglected due to this long period of heat.
Nevertheless, Ezri proved herself smart enough, didn’t act clumsy at all in the ring, but easy and focussed, and she showed her smooth gaiting. And so breed judge Gabriele Richard (DE) awarded her with a “Very promising” and in the end she left the ring as winner of the Puppy Class, i.e. BOBP.
Opra is an eperienced show dog. She didn’t care about looking a bit like a plucked goose. She, too, scored with her beautiful face and her wonderful gaiting and was assessed “Excellent” particularly for her gaiting. So I didn’t care at all that due to her poor coat there was no chance for us in the rounds for the Best Female.
With the two girls being pretty groggy due to the heat, and their colorful ribbons, we returned home happily.
A big thank you goes to the hosts, to show management Ute Berger and breed judge Gabriela Richard! And another big thank you to Angela Tagliaferri for grooming and Tanja backes for training us!
A straining and exciting weekend: 1,300 km (appr. 810 m) to drive, summer heat on Saturday and continous rain on Sunday, a family reunion and a lot of support from friends, no place on the rostrum but excellent results for Kira (Zausel’s Red Rose) and her first daughter Nukka (Almudis of Kahnawake).
At the Saar-Pfalz-Schau (Specialty Show DCNH, Saturday, June 24th, 2017) Nukka got “Very Promising” from breeding judge Hassi Assenmacher-Feyel (DE) and was placed second in Puppy Class (VP2 /2). Kira got “Excellent” and was placed second in Open Class (Exc 2 /2). Since I am a rookie in breeding, I was only out for excellen results for both girls, thus I am happy with what they achieved.
Besides we had a happy family reunion that day. Sammy (Alban of Kahnawake) came to the show with his family to support his mom and sister, just like Bubbles (Antonius of Kahnawake) did from afar!
From the Rhine valley we went across the country to Munich to enter a joint dog show of the VDH Bavaria on the Harness Racing Track in Daglfing (Sunday, June 25th, 2017). Breeding judge Maria Grazia Miglietta (IT) rated Nukka “Very Promising” in Puppy Class and Kira “Excellent”, she was placed 3rd in a strong competition. Both girls reached the targets I had set – rookie me happy again!
I am sorry, there are no pictures on the show! On Saturday I forgot to tell someone, on Sunday it was all raining. Hence, I have only some snapshots to show.
Sincere thanks are given to Nukka’s family for entrusting their baby to me over the weekend, Angela Tagliaferri (Lagotto Romagnolo Accompagniatore) for perfectly grooming the girls, Simone Ebardt-Heidt (Siberian Huskies of Savannah Town) for sheltering us from the heat and the rain, to Sammy’s family for paying a visit at the show, and to Bubbles’ family for feeping fingers crossed.
We had a very good time at this year’s Lahn-Dill-Schau, a specialty show for Nordic breeds and Akita. Debutante Almudis of Kahnawake (Nukka) won Baby class (3 – 6 months) on Saturday, April 29th, and became Best Baby in Specialty Show.
And the next day, she did it again!
We are very proud of our little girl, even though her mom Kira (Zausel’s Red Rose) couldn’t stand up to her competitor in Open Class.
