Today Kira got the second shot against CHV (canine herpesvirus), so that the newborn pups will be safe from that disease, because CHV is a very dangerous condition in which a whole litter can die a painful death within 48 hours.
Kira herself is all cool and happy. Even that twitchy giant black dog in the waiting room didn’t vex her. The vet examined her before vaccination and she was very pleased with Kira’s condition. Kira is sleeping and dozing a lot, she enjoys food and her walks – just not the usual length -, and she is cheerful and attentive.
Now we are entering the final round. The pups are due by mid March, and some things still have to be prepared, before the little Sibes will turn our lives upside down for two or three months. We, Salai’s family and the people on the waiting list are quite excited.
