Well, now that we all are staying in our houses and gardens and leave home only for urgent shopping (like searching for toilet paper), it is quite annoying to face curfews the next days due to too many people acting without reason and responsibility.
So we try to cheer up all people being worried about their own health and the health of family and friends and about their existence. Maybe tons of pictures of puppies playing brightes your days a little bit.
Just for the record: They are all being awaited by their furever families!
Yesterday the pups of litter A of Kahnawake turned 3 years old and we hope that each of them had a great birthday party with their families.
Happy birthday and best wishes for our funny boy Bubbles, our fluffy boy Sammy and our great girl and gorgeous mommie Nukka! You changed our lives furever – so huge thanks go to you and your wonderful families!
Yesterday we celebrated our first Kahnawake Summer Powwow. Many of those who own puppies from our kennel, and some people who are interested in our kennel activities, came for a visit. We watches the huskies playing and tussling, enjoyed good food and good conversation. Later that evening, when those who had to take a long ride home (like Sammy and Zelda and their family), we watched a thunderstorm with hard rain and hail from our sunroom.
It was too hot for a real walk altogether, but the dogs had lots of fun in the yard anyway. At first, Sisko made clear to the males that he is the boss, and he stopped Sammy and Koda from brawling in his own cool manner.
When Nukka arrived, all C’babies got quite excited – but Koda even more. He worked har, trying to convince her of his charm and even forgot about his beloved Opra.
Ezri finally laid down in the middle of the lawn, lost in thought, smiling. Not until Nukka’s master started to play the dog whisperer, she joined the pack, sitting around the man with the magic pockets.
In the evening dogs and People were all happy and tired. After the guests had left and the gang of four had gone to sleep in the house, Helmut and I sat down on the terrace, got comfy and enjoyed a glass of wine. This way, Helmut celebrated one of the loveliest birthdays in his life.
It is pretty warm, a wonderful summer day. In fact, there is nothing to boast about today. The dogs are relaxing and it is just fine to watch them.
Ezri and Berni have been romping around the place all morning, now they are looking for shadowy places, like the others. Kira takes care of her little boy and he is enjoying her loving attention very much.
Kira and Opra are becoming more acquainted, due to Opra’s constantly being close and friendly. These two are going to be a great team in all aspects.
Meanwhile Ezri has retreated into the house. Lying at the terrace door watching seems to be very relaxing.
Sometimes I am going through dog pedigrees just for fun, at first those that are available online, for example at Pawvillage or the World Pedigree Database at ingrus.net. I am aware of the fact, that there are errors involved, but it gives me a raw impression, though.
Kira’s pedigree can be found there, too. Following the traits of her ancestors back in time, I end up with Leonard Seppala‘s legendary lead dog Togo after approximately 17 generations. Actually, it is no wonder, since all Siberian Huskies stem from a small pack of dogs with who Leonhard Seppala started the breed. But the fact, that it is no more than 17 – seventeen! – generations, that no more than 17 dogs are standing between my girl and one of the founding fathers of the breed, that as left a deep impression on me. 🙂
Happy puppy parents are people who happily share any news with the breeder, while the puppy grows up. Bubbles’ two-legged mom and dad have tricked the tooth-fairy and gave us one of his baby teeth. I can’t think of any better little present!
Yesterday, Sammy paid us a visit with his family, and we could see for ourselves that he turns out to be a handsome boy, funny and sweet as ever. Bubbles came along with his family, so Kira had the chance to enjoy her two sons playing together.
Later we took a nice walk in the beautiful valley of the Rosphe creek in the Burgwald area – and Sammy took a chance to bunk off with uncle Siko for a short while. But they returned quickly without doing any mischief. 😉
Most of the time, Sammy trotted side by side with Kira, showing he will be a sporting ace, when he has grown up. At the end of the walk both had a bath in one of the ponds along the track – apparently a perfect ending.
