It is pretty warm, a wonderful summer day. In fact, there is nothing to boast about today. The dogs are relaxing and it is just fine to watch them.
Ezri and Berni have been romping around the place all morning, now they are looking for shadowy places, like the others. Kira takes care of her little boy and he is enjoying her loving attention very much.
Kira and Opra are becoming more acquainted, due to Opra’s constantly being close and friendly. These two are going to be a great team in all aspects.
Meanwhile Ezri has retreated into the house. Lying at the terrace door watching seems to be very relaxing.
Sometimes I am going through dog pedigrees just for fun, at first those that are available online, for example at Pawvillage or the World Pedigree Database at ingrus.net. I am aware of the fact, that there are errors involved, but it gives me a raw impression, though.
Kira’s pedigree can be found there, too. Following the traits of her ancestors back in time, I end up with Leonard Seppala‘s legendary lead dog Togo after approximately 17 generations. Actually, it is no wonder, since all Siberian Huskies stem from a small pack of dogs with who Leonhard Seppala started the breed. But the fact, that it is no more than 17 – seventeen! – generations, that no more than 17 dogs are standing between my girl and one of the founding fathers of the breed, that as left a deep impression on me. 🙂
Happy puppy parents are people who happily share any news with the breeder, while the puppy grows up. Bubbles’ two-legged mom and dad have tricked the tooth-fairy and gave us one of his baby teeth. I can’t think of any better little present!
Yesterday, Sammy paid us a visit with his family, and we could see for ourselves that he turns out to be a handsome boy, funny and sweet as ever. Bubbles came along with his family, so Kira had the chance to enjoy her two sons playing together.
Later we took a nice walk in the beautiful valley of the Rosphe creek in the Burgwald area – and Sammy took a chance to bunk off with uncle Siko for a short while. But they returned quickly without doing any mischief. 😉
Most of the time, Sammy trotted side by side with Kira, showing he will be a sporting ace, when he has grown up. At the end of the walk both had a bath in one of the ponds along the track – apparently a perfect ending.
Bubbles’ mom loves to get exercise. Tough exercise. Since Bubbles himself is not that sporting yet, he comes for a visit now and then, so he is looked after and uncle Sisko can teach him some manners. At least that is Bubbles’ mom’s plan.
Bubbles is familiar with our garden for most of his life and loves to play here. And I love to take photos. So people xan see how handsome a boy he is becoming.
Today Bubbles paid us a visit, playing in the garden right before his first puppy class. He is growing like weeds and turns out to be a really handsome, deep auburn boy. He was having fun re-exploring the place where he used to play as a little pup. Sadly, he did not have much time, but we will meet again very soon.
Last night, we and Kira and Nukka (Almudis of Kahnawake) took part in a conformation training with Tanja Backes. While Kira is familiar with training for shows, everything was new for Nukka. She was very excited, yet joined in nicely. I did not ask much of her, but gave her a playful first lesson. And all the other participants just shrugged off the hassle a pup brings up. All of us once started with a baby dog.
After the first round, I had her taking a break, and she was watching attentively what the other dogs were doing. Particularly her mommie Kira. <3
En passant, my husband turned out to be a natural doghandler. Well, I suspected that all the time.
Thank you, Tanja, for your support!
